Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski, today, at the Ministry of Defence, together with the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, held a farewell meeting with the United States Ambassador, Angela Aggeler, attended by the Defense Attaché, Daniel Squiers.
In the course of the meeting, Minister Misajlovski emphasized that in the past period, the cooperation with Ambassador Aggeler and the U.S. Embassy was at an excellent level, thanks to which the strategic partnership between our two countries had continuously advanced. On the occasion of the completion of Ambassador Aggeler's mandate, Misajlovski expressed gratitude for her professional support, sincere dedication, and personal engagement, which contributed to deepening our mutual understanding and friendship, and gave additional momentum to building this important partnership, wishing her success and personal fulfillment in her future career.
Misajlovski added that the role and continuous support from the United States with respect to the development of defense capacities was especially important, seeing that they are the pillar of the peace and security of the country, as well as of the wider region, which represents an additional gain for the established image of the Ministry of Defence and the Macedonian Army within the NATO Alliance and beyond.
The Chief of the General Staff, General Lafchiski, expressed sincere gratitude to Ambassador Aggeler, noting that a significant part of the goals set in the Bilateral Defense Cooperation had been successfully achieved during her tenure. The General also emphasized the excellent cooperation between the Army and the United States Armed Forces, which is realized through numerous support programs in various areas of defence, contributing to the strengthening of interoperability between the two armies.

I want to emphasize that with Minister Misajlovski and Chief of Defence Lafchiski, as well as with all your colleagues, we had the opportunity to work together on matters that matter—on matters that are important for NATO and for the region—and I thank you all for your support during my mandate", emphasized Ambassador Aggeler.
