Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski, today (June 15), is in Paris, France, where he attended the opening of the international defence and security exhibition "EUROSATORY 2026", and also met with Hélène Conway-Mouret, Vice President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and Armed Forces in the French Senate.
At the meeting with Senator Conway-Mouret, Minister Misajlovski referred to investments in the army, visible through the steady increase in funds allocated for the defence, which this year reached 2.18 percent of the gross domestic product, of which 32.5 percent is intended for the procurement of new and sophisticated equipment for the Macedonian Army.
"The Macedonian Government is investing heavily in strengthening the country's defence and security, and consequently the collective defence of the Alliance. By increasing the defence budget and purchasing new, modern and sophisticated equipment, including the Mistral 3 Air Defence Systems from the French Republic, we are undoubtedly contributing to a stronger NATO and safer citizens," said the Minister at the meeting.
At the meeting, Misajlovski also emphasized that the potential for developing defence cooperation with France was truly great, especially in the context of joint training and exercises, as well as the exchange of expertise in the defence domain.
At the EUROSATORY 2026 exhibition, the Macedonian delegation had the opportunity to become familiar with the new achievements in the field of military technology first-hand, which was of exceptional importance considering the active process of modernization and equipping of the Army.
