Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski, as part of the Government delegation led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, has taken part in the Munich Security Conference in the Federal Republic of Germany yesterday and today.
This morning, Minister Misajlovski began his meetings with the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense of the United States, David Baker, with whom he discussed current policies regarding regional and global security and the modernization and equipping of the Macedonian Army. Baker, on his part, stressed the Macedonian contribution to the security of the Balkan region and NATO eastern flank. Misajlovski also attended the meeting of the Prime Ministers of the Macedonian and Croatian Governments, Hristijan Mickoski and Andrej Plenković, at which they discussed the development of mutual overall cooperation and support in the context of the enlargement of the European Union and the impact of security in the Balkans on the continued development of the countries in this region.
Today, Minister Misajlovski is scheduled to participate in a working lunch at the invitation of his German counterpart Boris Pistorius and will participate in a session dedicated to the new policies of the US administration at the invitation of the US President’s Special Envoy for Special Missions, Richard Grenell.
The Munich Security Conference is an annual conference attended by leaders and decision-makers from around the world where debates are held on issues related to international security policy. The goal of this security conference is to establish dialogue and build trust in order to peacefully resolve conflicts.
