On the occasion of the greatest Macedonian holiday the 2nd of August – Ilinden, I extend my sincere congratulations to the members of the Army, employees of the Ministry of Defence, and to all citizens.
This is the day when we are reminded of the large number of revolutionaries and fighters for an independent Macedonia, who, with their sacrifice, wrote the pages of Macedonian history.
This is the day of the Ilinden Uprising and the first Republic in the Balkans, but also of ASNOM and the National Liberation Struggle.
This day is a beacon of our struggle for our own country, the synonym of our existence, of our defiance!
The day that is a symbol of our great victory!
Therefore, as a sign of gratitude for all the known and unknown heroes of our history who laid the foundations on which our present-day Macedonia exists, it is our duty to honour and celebrate this great day!
It is also our obligation to unite around the common desires for progress and success of Macedonia, to continue working with great dedication to building a modern, prosperous and European society.
Have a happy and timeless Republic Day – the 2nd of August, Ilinden!
