On 4 February 2025, at the Training Center “Dr. Joseph Kruzel” the Department for Education and Training of the Ministry of Defence in cooperation with the Center for Integrity in the Defence Sector from Norway (CIDS) conducted the seminar on the topic “Enhancing the ‘Bureaucratic Efficiency’ through overcoming of informalities”, which was attended by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, H.E. Kristin Melsom, who addressed the attendees and made a special contribution to the seminar.
The aim of the seminar was to guide the managerial personnel in the ministry towards improving the functionality and performance of bureaucratic systems by addressing and reducing informal practices. Participants in the seminar, through the exchange of experiences, presenting case studies on informalities and real examples that affect bureaucratic efficiency in the Balkan countries, had the opportunity to familiarize themselves and acquire additional, necessary knowledge and skills regarding the identification and appearance of informalities, in the execution of day-to-day work tasks.
International experts Svein Eriksen and Damir Ahmetović from CIDS, and Kjersti Klæboe, Director of the Department for Personnel Policy, Competence and Joint Legal Services at the Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Norway gave their contribution to the seminar.
The training was organized according to the 2025 Annual Activity Plan for building integrity between the Ministry of Defence and the Centre for Integrity in the Defence Sector from Norway.
