On 21 and 22 April, a specialized training was conducted at the Defence Training Center "Dr. Joseph Kruzel" on the topic "Train the Trainers for Strengthening Integrity in the Defence Sector" intended for employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Army.
The purpose of the training was to strengthen institutional capacity for promoting integrity and preventing corruption through the development of qualified internal trainers within the Ministry and the Army.
The training covered topics related to integrity systems, corruption risks and mechanisms for their prevention, as well as relevant international standards and good practices in this area. The training was implemented through an interactive approach, which included lectures, discussions, practical exercises, and simulations, with a particular focus on the practical application of the acquired knowledge and skills.
This two-day "Train the Trainers" program was designed to develop a sustainable pool of qualified trainers among the staff in the Ministry of Defence, who will be able to conduct high-quality training on integrity and corruption prevention within the institution.
The trainers of the course were experts from the Center for Integrity in the Defence Sector from Norway: Svein Eriksen, an international expert; Damir Ahmetović, an international expert in public management; Bjørn Ole Grodås, Director of the Western Balkans Project; and Islam Jusufi, a local expert.
The training was organized by the Education and Training Sector at the Directorate for Human Resource Management, Education and Training, in collaboration with the Center for Integrity in the Defence Sector from Norway, in accordance with the 2026 Specialized Trainings Calendar and the 2026–2029 Integrity Plan.
