Today (22 September), in Ohrid, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Elizabeta Chupovska-Ristova, opened the second module of the Regional Strategic Leadership Course, in which, in addition to high-ranking representatives from the Ministry of Defence and the Macedonian Army, representatives from Austria, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia are also participating.

At the opening, Chupovska-Ristova emphasized that modern challenges such as geopolitical instability, hybrid and cyber threats, energy security, and crises that transcend national borders remind us that cooperation, trust, and strategic thinking are more important than ever.

"The importance of this course goes beyond the knowledge and experiences shared during these days. It is also seen in connecting people from different countries and institutions, creating an open environment for dialogue, understanding different perspectives, and building professional relationships that can remain significant long after the completion of the course," said the State Secretary.

Over the next few days, the course participants will be introduced to several topics, including the importance of strategic environment analysis, the decision-making process, the connection between strategic leadership and strategic communications, crisis communication, and working with the media.

The Regional Strategic Leadership Course was initiated within the framework of the Western Balkans Defence Summit held in Graz, Austria, in 2018. The course represents a platform for the development of regional cooperation and the establishment of closer contacts between institutions in the countries of the region.
