"In a time of rapid geopolitical changes, in a rapidly changing world, it is more than necessary to understand these changes and find a way to adapt to them, because security - ours and that of all citizens of the Alliance - is a priority for the defence," said Deputy Minister of Defence Admir Shabani today (26 June) at the opening of the third international scientific conference "MILCON 26", organized by the Military Academy.
The Deputy Minister emphasized that with its activities, including the organization of this conference, the Military Academy "follows the global trend and positions itself as an academic center that makes a substantial contribution to defence and security."
Shabani said that the number of 50 scientific papers that successfully passed the double review, as well as the participation of representatives of the academic community from the United States, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Croatia, Romania, Poland, some neighbouring countries, but also more distant countries such as Jordan and South Korea, are impressive and provide an opportunity to share experiences and perspectives on security challenges on a global level.
The Dean of the Military Academy, Colonel Prof. Nenad Taneski PhD, at the very onset said that the Military Academy remains firmly committed to its mission to be a center of military education, scientific research, and international academic cooperation.
"The organization of MILCON'26 is another confirmation of our commitment to creating a space for the exchange of ideas, experiences and scientific achievements among experts, researchers and practitioners from the country and abroad. We are particularly proud that the conference is being held within the framework of the Summer Campus 2026, an international platform that over the years has grown into a recognizable symbol of cooperation, friendship and academic exchange between military academies and higher education institutions from several countries," said the Dean.
The "MILCON 26" conference is organized in three parallel scientific panels, followed by lectures, while at the same time the Academy also implemented the renowned Summer Campus, which is being held for the 15th time, as well as the so-called "Erasmus+ Staff Week 2026", an activity with the participation of teachers, researchers and administrative staff from partner higher education institutions from Bulgaria, Croatia, Armenia, Georgia and Jordan.
The conference also promoted the Compendium, which is an undoubted contribution to the development of Macedonian defence and security thought.
