Misajlovski and Robles meet in Spain and take part in the Artificial Intelligence Summit: strong input in the development of Macedonian-Spanish defense cooperation

At the invitation of the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Spain, Margarita Robles Fernandez, Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski attended today the opening of the 3rd Global International Summit on Artificial Intelligence in Defense - REAIM, which is taking place today and tomorrow in A Coruña, Spain.

The aim of this Summit, which is attended by Ministers, state representatives from almost all UN member states, representatives of international organizations, academics, and other high-ranking guests, is to strengthen global awareness for the responsible development of artificial intelligence in a military context, while respecting human rights and international law.

Within the framework of the Summit, Minister Misajlovski met with his colleague Robles, at which the joint readiness to promote bilateral defense cooperation was emphasized and several proposals for joint activities and the preparation of a Cooperation Plan between the two countries were discussed.
On this occasion, Minister Misajlovski expressed his gratitude for the invitation and emphasized that the Summit represents a significant opportunity for the exchange of expert views in the domain of defense and security.

"Technology in the military field is developing at an enormous pace, and therefore cooperation in this field is essential in the development of military capacities and the ability of allies to guarantee security," the Minister said. He added that the invitation to participate is also proof of the excellent bilateral defense relations with Spain, the promotion of which was a key topic of the meeting.

Misajlovski noted that in November 2024, our country was the first candidate country for membership in the Union from the Balkans to sign the Security and Defense Partnership with the EU, and added that Macedonia's contribution to regional and collective security will continue with unwavering intensity in the future.
