Today, Vlado Misajlovski took over the position of Minister of Defence from the previous Deputy Minister of Defence Tiron Jajaga at the ceremony held in the Ministry of Defence.
In his first address to the employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Army, Minister Misajlovski emphasized that he undertakes to work on strengthening the international reputation and position of the country, and the main priority will be the full engagement of all available resources in the protection of the national interests.
“Reform processes will be at the top of the agenda, in line with NATO’s capability targets, we will accordingly update the strategic framework that is the basis for the implementation of reform processes in the key defence areas. These reforms, will accordingly strengthen the processes of modernization of the Army, international cooperation, the human resources system, education and training of the personnel, logistic support, military infrastructure, communication system and cyber defence”, emphasized Minister Misajlovski.
He emphasized that he remains committed to stable and continuous financing of the defence in accordance with the decisions of the NATO Alliance.
“I promise an increase in the realization of capital expenditures and a significant reduction of all previously unproductive costs”, said Misajlovski.
Regarding the employment and professional development of the employees in the ministry and the Army, Misajlovski said: “There will be objective, transparent and precise criteria for employment in the Army. There will be quality and professional development for military and civilian personnel in the Army, transparent and clear criteria will be established for the selection and referral of employees for professional development, and diplomatic missions abroad and peacekeeping missions will be decided on the basis of expertise, merit and meeting international and NATO standards”.
In his address, Minister Vlado Misajlovski expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the recently deceased professional soldier.
Deputy Minister of Defence Tiron Jajaga thanked the employees of the Ministry of Defence and the Army, and congratulated Minister Misajlovski on his election and wished him a successful tenure.
