The Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, together with the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, today visited the members of the artillery battalion at the "Mirche Acev" barracks in Prilep and inspected the construction activities currently underway at the barracks.
Misajlovski said that the Ministry, together with the General Staff, is continuously working to improve the infrastructure in the barracks and underlined that the reconstruction provides conditions for adequate accommodation and storage of the newly purchased equipment and vehicles, howitzers, Strykers and the Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTV), as well as other artillery equipment.
"This is an investment worth MKD 10.5 million, but it means a lot, because in this way the equipment will be completely protected. As you can see, a completely new steel structure, and new electrical systems, a protected facility, completely under video surveillance with a hydrant network," said Misajlovski and added that various projects are currently being worked on across the barracks in the country, amounting to over EUR 850,000.
Misajlovski from the Prilep barracks once again emphasized that investments in defence are investments from the Macedonian citizens for the Macedonian Army, which is always ready to help its fellow citizens and is in the service of the country.
As part of today's working visit to the barracks, the Minister also visited the Ministry's Defence Department in Prilep.
