The Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, together with the Commander of the 1st Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Dejan Chiplakovski, visited at the "Jane Sandanski" barracks in Shtip today, to inspect the renovated facility, which is part of the infrastructure projects implemented in barracks across the country.
Minister Misajlovski said that investments in improving the infrastructure in the Army continue at an accelerated pace. "In recent weeks, we have been constantly promoting new projects. There is activity everywhere in the barracks... You can see a beautiful reconstructed building, a completed renovation, an overall reconstruction of building 35 here in the barracks in Shtip. An investment of 33.7 million denars", said the minister.
He noted that the reconstruction of the barracks building includes: a new energy-efficient facade, renovated electrical installations, reconstruction of the sanitary facilities, as well as all other construction works, adding the following: "At this moment, we will invest more than 100 million denars in the barracks in Shtip alone... an agreement has already been signed to change the roof of the military restaurant. We are also working on changing and adapting new hangars", emphasized Misajlovski.
Misajlovsk underlined that thanks to the excellent cooperation between the Ministry and the General Staff of the Army, investments in infrastructure are continuing, which in turn will contribute to significantly better conditions for work, residence and performance of tasks by members of the Army, adding that during the current and the following year, more than 12 million euros will be invested in infrastructure projects for the Army.
