Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, today (20 November), spoke at the promotion of the regional platform for cooperation between the national societies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent for the countries of the region, where he emphasized that “humanity and compassion are our guides for safer societies, for safer citizens.”
“It is only through mutual cooperation and mutual support that we can contribute to a secure, stable, and safe region, as well as to achieving our common goals, growth, and development of the countries”, underlined the Minister.
Misajlovski added that the increasingly frequent crises and natural disasters surpass national borders and have regional consequences, and therefore the need for regional coordination, partnership, and joint response is of utmost importance.
“All of us, institutionally and individually, are only as strong as our ability to help citizens during natural disasters and other emergencies. That is precisely why any cooperation with our neighbours, as well as with other countries, partners, and allies, is particularly important for continuously improving our mechanisms for prevention, early warning, and crisis management”, said the Minister, once again expressing gratitude on behalf of the Government and the Macedonian citizens to all countries that in recent years have been here to help us, both in dealing with the consequences and in building capacities for prevention and response.
Misaјlovski, in his address, emphasized that he is proud of the members of the Army, as well as all other stakeholders, including the Red Cross, who, through their personal contributions, provide a true example of how to love one’s own country, with maximum dedication and integrity in the service of the citizens.
At the event attended by representatives from the region, the academia, the Army, and other institutions, Misaјlovski concluded that only in this way, by building bridges for cooperation, will we further strengthen the system of readiness and rapid response.
