We are strongly committed to the development of mutual cooperation in the field of defence, which is an indicator of the trust that built between our two friendly countries, concluded Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski and his counterpart, Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, at today’s meeting at the Ministry. The meeting is held as part of the official visit of the Bosnian delegation led by Minister of Defence Helez to the Ministry of Defence.
Minister Misajlovski said that the most important thing for both countries is the security and stability of the region, underlining that “it is an absolute priority, considering that without it we cannot discuss the development of any other area, including the economy.”
Misajlovski added that the country is fully prepared to support Bosnia and Herzegovina in the NATO integration process, emphasizing that “our two countries are friendly and must support and assist each other in achieving the goal – a better tomorrow for our citizens.”
Regarding the contribution to the EU mission ALTHEA in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Misajlovski reaffirmed our commitment, informing that 33 Macedonian members are currently part of this operation.
Ahead of the visit to the Military Academy, where the two ministers will attend the first academic class today, Misajlovski said that the participation of more cadets from Bosnia and Herzegovina in the new class at the Academy is “a clear indicator of our sincere intentions in building partnerships and that mutual trust is at the highest level – from our offer of education, to your interest in entrusting us with the responsibility of creating the future leaders of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Minister Helez expressed his gratitude for the education of cadets from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Military Academy and for the contribution of the Macedonian contingent to the European Union mission in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Minister also referred to the integration into the European Union, which he said is extremely important for our two countries.
At the meeting, the ministers also discussed the cooperation in the field of specialized industry, as well as the use of the TA Krivolak, which is a significant capacity of the Macedonian Army.
At the Ministry of Defence, in addition to the meeting of the two ministers, a meeting of the two delegations was also held, which was attended by the Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sasko Lafchiski.
