Ministers Misajlovski and Güler signed a Framework Agreement for military cooperation
Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski and Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Yaşar Güler, on behalf of the governments of the two countries, signed a Framework Agreement for military cooperation today during the meeting held in Istanbul based on the expressed need to improve the existing friendly relations.

 

The purpose of this Agreement is to develop the cooperation between the two countries in the field of military cooperation, military training and education, mutual participation in exercises, peace operations and humanitarian assistance operations, defense industry, military intelligence, logistic cooperation, military medicine and health services, communication information systems and cyber defense and staff exchange for professional development.

At the meeting, Minister Misajlovski expressed his deep gratitude for the continuous support from our ally Türkiye, which has been our significant partner and friend since our independence and which is a significant stakeholder and contributor in the modernization of the Army and its equipping with new, state-of-the-art equipment, compatible with the standards of the NATO members countries.
Within the framework of today’s activities, Minister Misajlovski also had a meeting with Haluk Gorgun, Secretary for Defense Industry, where they discussed the intensification of the cooperation in the field of modernization of the Macedonian Army and the possibilities for further expansion of the bilateral military cooperation between the two friendly countries.

During the two-day visit to the Republic of Türkiye, Minister Misajlovski, General Lafchiski and other members of the Macedonian delegation visited the 4th International Defense Fair – SAHA EXPO 2024, where they attended the ceremonial opening of the fair, held several meetings with representatives of companies from the Turkish specialized industry and with other companies from all segments of the land capacities that could be of acquisition interest for the Macedonian defense.
Train the Trainer Workshop for the needs of the Dr. Joseph Kruzel Training Center

In the period 15 – 17 October 2024, a “Train the Trainer” workshop was held at the “Dr. Joseph Kruzel” Training Center, which encompassed the potential trainers for the needs of the Center, in the context of future planning and implementation of pre-deployment trainings for stabilization and reconstruction for NATO needs.

The focus of the workshop, which was organized in cooperation with Italian experts and representatives from the Center for Studies on Post-Conflict Operations from Turin, Republic of Italy, was placed on the functions of stabilization and reconstruction under the perspective of NATO and the role of the military, the function of reconstruction and the civilian component in stabilization and reconstruction, the planning process, reforms in the security sector, demobilization, disarmament, reintegration, as well as non-state military actors.
Capacity development is part of NATO capability target S1106 to advance the knowledge of potential trainers in areas related to stabilization and reconstruction.
