Minister Misajlovski meets with KFOR Commander General Barduani: We remain committed to regional security and stability

Today (26 August), at the Ministry of Defence, Minister Vlado Misajlovski met with the commander of the NATO-led mission in Kosovo, KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani, with whom he discussed the significant role of this mission in strengthening the security and stability of Kosovo, and thus the entire region.

“This NATO mission is extremely important for an even more stable and secure region. We remain committed to our contribution to KFOR and the logistical support we provide to this mission in the future”, said the minister at the meeting.

Misajlovski emphasized that in times of serious geopolitical changes and instability, a secure and safe region is of priority importance for us, adding that the country will continue to be a pillar of security in the Balkans.

Considering that General Barduani’s mandate as Commander of KFOR is coming to an end soon, Minister Misajlovski thanked him for the excellent cooperation and coordination regarding the Macedonian contingent in this mission.

General Barduani, in turn, underlined that Macedonian soldiers continuously demonstrate top professionalism and complete dedication to their tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis. He expressed gratitude for our country’s continuous contribution to the KFOR mission, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in maintaining peace and security in the region. During the visit, General Barduani also met with the Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafchiski.
