Today in Ramstein, Germany, Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, participated in a meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine, which was led by the U.S. Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and which was attended by the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the first time.
Today’s meeting, which was attended by Defense Ministers and senior representatives of NATO member states and partner countries, and which was held in three sessions, was opened by the United States Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, and the President of Ukraine, Zelensky. At the meeting, the participants confirmed that the principles of the international legal order must be respected and unequivocally expressed their support for the independence and defense of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine.
57 countries, of which all 32 members of the NATO Alliance, make up the Contact Group for Ukraine, which, under the leadership of the United States of America, coordinates the efforts to help and support Ukraine.
Our country remains committed to supporting Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens.
On the sidelines of the meeting of the Contact Group for Ukraine, Minister Misajlovski held meetings with his colleagues from Bulgaria, Albania and Kosovo and with the State Secretary of Defense and Head of the Department for Defense Policy, Planning and International Relations of Romania, at which they confirmed the commitment for lasting peace in Europe.
