Minister Misajlovski on constructive meetings with senior political US diplomatic representatives: Macedonia remains on the path to contribute to global peace and collective security and protection of the citizens of the Alliance

Defence Minister Vlado Misajlovski, as part of the Macedonian government delegation led by Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, visited the United States of America and took part in the NATO Summit in Washington. The visit to the USA was also used to hold meetings with senior political representatives.

Meetings were held with Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Senator Thom Tillis and members of the Senate NATO Observer Group, as well as with Congresswoman Claudia Tenney, Co-chair of the Congressional Macedonian Caucus, and with Congressman Brendan Boyle.

Misajlovski also participated in the working meetings with Congressmen Pete Sessions, Robert Aderholt, Joe Wilson, John Moolenaar, and with President Barack Obama’s former national security advisor, General James Jones, and with Richard Grenell, former acting director of the U.S. national intelligence.

Minister Misajlovski emphasizes that Macedonia remains on the path to contribute to global peace and collective security and protection of the citizens of the Alliance.
The Macedonian government’s commitment to stable defence funding, contribution to international operations, support to Ukraine, as well as commitment to the modernization of the Army and significant improvement of the military infrastructure were reaffirmed at the meetings.

At all of the meetings, it was emphasized that the support from the USA, as well as the support from other allies of the European Union in the coming period will be extremely important in realizing the strategic interests of the country, the rule of law, economic progress and a stable and safe region.
