Today (3 February), in the secondary schools in Skopje, Veles, Ohrid, Valandovo, Tetovo and Prilep, representatives from the Ministry of Defence and the Military Academy, together with professional soldiers, non-commissioned officers and officers of the Army, started the project for popularization of the military profession, informing secondary school students about the opportunities offered by the military profession.
At the informative lectures, young people had the opportunity to get acquainted with the conditions for admission to service in the Army, as well as with the opportunities for personal and professional advancement that are part of the military profession.
The aim of the project is to increase the interest of young people in the military profession, and consequently increase the interest for applying on the public announcements for joining as professional soldiers or become graduates of the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski” in Skopje, which is of particular importance in the selection of different personnel profiles.
The Ministry of Defence will soon publish an announcement for the admission of 300 professional soldiers, to which all young Macedonian citizens will have the opportunity to apply. This move announced by Minister Misailovsky will increase the combat readiness of the Army, while at the same time it will rejuvenate the force with young and motivated citizens whose task will be to protect the security of their homeland.
The promotion of the military profession across secondary schools will take place between February and April 2025 and will cover 99 secondary schools across the country. Today this project is being implemented in the secondary schools “Ilinden” and “Nikola Karev” in Skopje, “Dimitrija Chupovski” in Veles, “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Ohrid, “Goce Delchev” in Valandovo, “Kiril Pejchiinovikj” in Tetovo, “Kuzman Josifovski Pitu” and “Mirche Acev” in Prilep.
