Congratulatory message from the Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski on the occasion of the 2nd of August - Ilinden

Dear citizens, members of the Macedonian Army and employees of the Ministry of Defence,
On behalf of the employees of the Ministry of Defence and on my personal behalf, I extend my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the 2nd of August - Ilinden.
Our greatest holiday and the brightest date in national history reminds us of the most sublime ideals — freedom, identity, patriotism, and love for the homeland. Ilinden is the foundation upon which the modern Macedonian state was built.
From the heroism of the Ilinden fighters and the vision with which the Krushevo Republic was establushed, through the state-building decisions of ASNOM to this day, the same continuous idea extends — for Macedonia to be a free, sovereign, and independent state.
That idea lives on in each of us today, because the freedom and peace we enjoy were paid for by the sacrifice of our ancestors.
This national holiday obliges us to preserve the values of unity, solidarity, freedom and mutual respect, building a society in which every citizen will have the opportunity to live with dignity and contribute to the common future.
In the spirit of the glorious Ilinden legacy, let us continue with wisdom, unity and determination to build Macedonia as a state of peace, democracy, prosperity and hope for future generations.
May the Ilinden flame always illuminate our path to unity, progress, and peace.
