In memory of the ten Prilep defenders from the reserve corps of the Macedonian Army, Sasho Kitanoski, Nane Naumoski, Branko Sekuloski, Marko Despotoski, Erdovan Shabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Vebi Rushitoski, Goran Minoski and Pece Sekuloski, today (8 August) a delegation from the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Army, led by State Secretary Elizabeta Chpovska Ristova and the Director of the General Staff, Brigadier General Orce Jordev, laid a wreath of fresh flowers at the memorial plaque near the Karpalak area.
On this day, in 2001, near the Karpalak area, Macedonian defenders laid down their lives performing their duty, preserving the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the homeland.
Delegations from the Government, from the office of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Army, representatives from the families of the deceased members of the Army, citizens' associations and political parties also laid fresh flowers at the memorial in memory of the defenders,.
Today, wreaths of fresh flowers will be laid in front of the memorial to the Macedonian heroes in the center of Prilep as well.
