Minister of Defense Vlado Misajlovski and the Chief of General Staff, Major General Sashko Lafchiski, had a video call this morning with our three officers who are part of the United Nations UNIFIL mission in Lebanon.
Our officers confirmed that they feel good, that the morale among all members within the mission is at a high level and that the tasks are being carried out continuously. The Macedonian staff officers, together with the members of the armies of other countries participating in the UNIFIL mission, continuously monitor the security situation on the southern border of Lebanon, as well as the security situation in the entire region.
The Republic of North Macedonia actively contributes to the UN mission in Lebanon, and currently two staff officers are part of the Italian contingent in Shama, Lebanon, and one staff officer is at the UNIFIL Command in Nagura, Lebanon.
