Minister Vlado Misajlovski had a meeting today with the acting Ambassador of the United States, Mrs. Nicole Varnes, at the Ministry of Defense, whom he welcomed to the country and wished her success in during her mandate.
Minister Misajlovski thanked the United States for the largest financial support for equipment and modernization of the Army throughout these years, an amount exceeding 300 million dollars.
During the meeting, the exceptionally close strategic defense cooperation between the two countries was emphasized, with special emphasis on the cooperation with the Vermont National Guard. In addition, they discussed the development of the Krivolak Training Area, with the aim of making it one of the best training areas for military personnel in Europe, and the upcoming training activities there in 2025, including the Immediate Response, as part of the Defender Europe exercise, in which the light infantry battalion group will participate.
Today’s meeting was also attended by the acting U.S. Deputy Chief of Mission David Myers, the Defense Attaché Colonel Daniel Squires, and the Office for Defense Cooperation Chief Lt. Col. Sean Ruffolo.
