Today (5 June, 2025), at NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Minister Vlado Misajlovski, together with the Defence Ministers of the allied countries, participated in a meeting of NATO North Atlantic Council.
“The unity of the Alliance is at the highest level. We have reaffirmed our shared commitment to deterrence and defence across NATO territory,” the Minister said, adding that the Alliance is united by its three core tasks – defence and deterrence, collective security, and crisis management.
Misajlovski said that the meetings raised the issue of defence investments intended for defence and civilian capacities that will strengthen security and safety, as well as social resilience.
“Although defence is the key task of the Army and the Ministry of Defence, it is necessary for the entire society to be involved in increasing our resilience, protecting peace, stability and the security of every individual,” he underlined.
At the meeting, the Minister gave full support to efforts to strengthen the Alliance and reaffirmed the country’s commitment to collective security.
In the afternoon, the NATO-Ukraine Council meeting was held, at which NATO member states reaffirmed their commitment to continued, long-term support for Ukraine. The EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, also participated in this session. Minister Misajlovski also participated in a meeting of the NATO Nuclear Planning Group.
This meeting is the final preparation before the NATO Summit in the Hague, which will be held on 24 – 25 June 2025.
