Today, the Minister of Defence Vlado Misajlovski together with the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Azim Nuredin and Brigadier General Mirche Gjorgoski visited the First Infantry Brigade, the striking fist of the Army.
Minister Misajlovski, at the meeting with the Commander of the First Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Sashko Lafchiski, expressed his sincere gratitude to the members of the Army who are involved in extinguishing fires from the ground and from the air and said that he will make the maximum effort to ensure that every soldier, non-commissioned officer and officer is equipped as befits a NATO Army.
During the visit, a briefing was held on the missions, tasks and plans for the modernization and development of the First Infantry Brigade and on the activities carried out through this command.
Minister Misajlovski emphasized that the Army, in accordance with its mission and task, should always be fully prepared in the performance of its constitutional obligation, but also in participating in NATO, EU and UN led operations and peace missions. He added that we should focus first and foremost on systematically solving the challenges together with the General Staff, primary with respect to providing adequate equipment, which will further contribute to the improvement of capabilities and opportunities for meeting the NATOcapability targets.
During the visit, the members of the First Infantry Brigade presented part of the equipment and available vehicles.
