Minister Misajlovski at the opening of the regional competition of the International Military Sports Council – CISM in marathon and half marathon, Skopje 2024

Organized by the International Military Sports Council under the motto “Friendship through Sport”, the “Regional Competition of the International Military Sports Council – CISM, in marathon and half-marathon, Skopje 2024” was opened today at the Army Home in Skopje.

Today’s opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defense, Vlado Misajlovski, and the Chief of General Staff of the Army, Major General Sashko Lafciski, who wished success to the competitors of the armed forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, the Netherlands and the Macedonian Army and told them to enjoy the hospitality of the Macedonian people during their stay.

At the opening, the President of the Military Sports Council, Lt. Col. Zoran Cvetkovski wished them excellent results, new friendships and congratulated all those who supported this activity underlining: “I believe that those of you, army members who deserve, will become the fastest individuals and overall winners”.

The Skopje 2024 marathon and half-marathon competition will be held within the framework of tomorrow’s Wizz Air Skopje Marathon 2024 in accordance with the signed Memorandum of Cooperation with the Skopje Sports Union and the Wizz Air Skopje Marathon, and 53 members of foreign armies and 27 members of Macedonian Army will take part in it.

The International Military Sports Council is an organization established on 18 February 1948, and the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia has been a full member since 2005. Through the programs of the International Military Sports Council, in addition to the remarkable results it achieves, we additionally contribute to the development of inter-army cooperation, friendship and peace in the region and the world.
