On the Distinguished Visitors Day, which was attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Army, General Sashko Lafchiski, as well as high-ranking military officials and Defense Attachés from the participating countries, joint teams of special forces members carried out a joint demonstration exercise where they demonstrated their skills and abilities. During the two-week exercise, eight CH47 “Chinook”, UH60 “Black Hawk”, “Puma” and Mi-17 helicopters were used, and over 120 special forces members in mixed teams from all participating countries performed multiple tasks, such as rope descending from a helicopter, long-range sniper shooting, ground and air force protection, close-quarters combat, medical evacuation, etc.
The exercise, which is held annually in one of the participating countries, strengthens regional cooperation in this domain and promotes interoperability, which is the basis for strengthening collective security. This annual exercise has been implemented since 2011 at the initiative of the Balkan Countries Chiefs of General Staffs.
