Yesterday evening, the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Elizabeta Chupovska Ristova, opened the international scientific conference “New frontiers of conflict and security policy”, organized by the Institute for Security, Defence and Peace at the Faculty of Philosophy – Skopje, which took place in Dojran in the period 17th to 20th September.
Chupovska Ristova pointed out that this kind of scientific conferences where the exchange of knowledge, analyzes and experiences are aimed at finding new appropriate solutions in order to improve the defence systems and thus strengthen the security of the states are more than necessary, especially today when we are living in a world of rapid change, brimming with numerous technological innovations and challenges that affect the security and peace of citizens.
“A changed security environment, the use of unconventional and conventional tools, cyber attacks, massive disinformation campaigns, but also climate change, health and energy crises that are global in nature, require a global response. That is why a common approach and quick reaction is more than important, as well as our continuous commitment to the transatlantic family, which shapes the course of our common future”, emphasized Chupovska Ristova.
The Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Oliver Bakreski stressed the importance of the Institute for Security, Defence and Peace, which is the driving force and significant stakeholder of scientific research activity in the sphere of security, defence and peace, but also makes a huge contribution to the development of the security sector.
The conference was attended by representatives from higher education institutions at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius”, the Military Academy “General Mihailo Apostolski”, the Faculty of Criminolistics, Criminology and Cyber Security from Sarajevo, the Chamber of Private Security and non-governmental organizations.
