Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, congratulates all citizens, Army members and employees of the Ministry of Defence on the significant holiday “2 August – Ilinden”.
“The symbol of our defiance, of our determination to live freely in peace and unity, is our greatest holiday Ilinden. Ilinden is our foundation for independence. The legacy of our heroes from the Ilinden Uprising and the National Liberation Army is a guide that we must follow and create a prosperous future for our children.”
We will demonstrate true and sincere respect for our Ilindenians only if all of us, from different ethnic groups and different religious affiliations, truly unite and make a joint maximum effort, united, to fulfill the vow and illuminate our path forward”

Happy Republic Day – 2nd August, Ilinden!”
On the occasion of today’s holiday “2 August, Ilinden”, the Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, together with the Ministers of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, European Affairs, and Public Administration, Cvetan Tripunovski, Orhan Murtezani and Goran Minchev, respectively, laid a wreath of fresh flowers in the Memorial Center dedicated to the ASNOM First Session in Pelince.
On the occasion of today’s holiday, delegations from the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff of the Army laid wreaths with fresh flowers on the memorials of the first President of the Presidium of ASNOM, “Metodija Andonov Chento”, the ASNOM monument and in front of the Nikola Karev monument in front of the Macedonian Assembly in Skopje and on the grave of Nikola Karev, the monument “Sliva” and Mechkin Kamen in Krushevo.
