Representatives of the Macedonian Ministry of Defence and the Italian Armed Forces, yesterday (March 18), at the Ministry of Defence, signed the Bilateral Defence Cooperation Plan between the respective countries for 2026, which covers several areas including military education, trainings, exercises, mutual visits, and expert discussions.
At yesterday's regular bilateral consultations that preceded the signing of the Plan, both delegations expressed satisfaction with the cooperation to date, which dates back to 1997 when the Agreement on Bilateral Military Cooperation was signed, and today serves as an example of cooperation between two friendly and allied countries.
In nearly two decades of bilateral defence relations, the armed forces of both countries have developed in a number of areas such as civil-military cooperation, military aviation, logistics, military police, cybersecurity, the transformation of the training and education system, and more. Italy has supported the development of the Army with diverse equipment such as trucks, mountaineering equipment, engineering equipment, climbing tower, and other.
